A new chapter of progress and sustainable development was written in Nasarawa State as His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, launched the Compendium of Reforms, Successes and Achievements of his administration under the Nasarawa Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project at the Government House, Lafia.

The event marked a historic reflection on the transformative strides achieved through the visionary leadership of Governor Sule, whose administration continues to champion climate resilience, agricultural transformation and land restoration initiatives across the state.

In her opening remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Princess Magret Itake Elayo, highlighted the remarkable impacts of the ACReSAL Project made possible through the unwavering support of the Governor. She emphasized that the milestones recorded would not have been possible without the strong political will and institutional backing of the Nasarawa State Government, describing it as a testament to the administration’s commitment to sustainable environmental management and rural development.

Princess Elayo further noted that the project’s life changing interventions have improved livelihoods, enhanced agricultural productivity and restored hope in rural communities. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to advancing environmental protection and building a greener, more resilient Nasarawa State.

Also speaking, the State Project Coordinator, Dr. Elias Gyobe Napoleon, expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s steadfast support, noting that the Compendium would serve as a legacy document and reference material for present and future generations.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Sangari Dalhatu commended ACReSAL’s transformative support to state institutions, particularly in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He stated that the equipment provided by ACReSAL has elevated the university’s capacity, positioning it to compete favorably with leading institutions across and beyond Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Andoma of Doma, HRH Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the numerous ACReSAL interventions in Doma, especially the ongoing gully erosion control project that has long threatened lives and properties in the area. He described the project as a dream come true, saying that what once seemed an impossible challenge has now become history through the intervention of ACReSAL.

Similarly, Hon. Safiyanu Isa, the ALGON chairman, commended the project for its wide reaching impact across all local government areas. He noted that the distribution of tractors and other agricultural inputs under ACReSAL has significantly boosted agricultural productivity and improved food security in rural communities.

In his keynote address, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule expressed profound appreciation to the World Bank, the Task Team Leader, Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, the Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) led by Abdulhamid Umar, and the dedicated Nasarawa State Project Team for their collaborative efforts and commitment to excellence.

Describing ACReSAL as a “legacy project that truly touches lives,” the Governor noted that the initiative has reclaimed degraded lands, restored hope to vulnerable communities and reinforced his administration’s commitment to tangible, people centered development.

“The Compendium we launch today is a record of history, a document for future generations to see how much was achieved through vision, partnership, and commitment,” he stated. “Governance is not about making noise but making impact. As we celebrate this milestone, our administration remains dedicated to delivering real progress for the people of Nasarawa State.”
